Adjustments in the Allianz Thematica theme fund: According to an article by Citywire, the Allianz fund has been partially restructured. The topics “China Impact” and “Safety and Security” were removed. Instead, the areas “Education” and “Next Generation Energy” were included. According to Fruschki – Portfolio Manager at Allianz – the investment potential of the “Education” sector has improved significantly as a result of a number of IPOs.
The focus of investment activities is on companies in the areas of tutoring, vocational training and educational technologies. In contrast, the “Next Generation Energy” sector invests in companies with a focus on clean energy generation. One of the reasons why the fund has a greater focus on this topic is that, in Fruschki’s opinion, a new generation of managers is apparently willing to finance greener topics.
